Forged by the Fire

Some wake in great pain.
Some have no domain.
Some sleep in the rain,
With a limp & a cane,
With legs failing & lame,
Bodies bandaged & sprained.
Crippled, damaged, & strained.
Some live in terrains,
With droughts, and no showers or rain.
With famines, and no breakfast or grain.
Some have cancers, strokes, or migraines.
They’re imprisoned, persecuted, or chained.
They’re impoverished, slaughtered, or hanged.
Though not one is the same,
And tribulations vary,
And vary by name,
Let it be known,
Our trials are many,
But not one is in vain.
It is through fire & flame,
That we are forged, molded, & framed.
Good soldiers & saints,
We all share in suffering,
With Christ who was maimed,
With a Lamb that was slain,
With a Lion that raised,
With a King that remains,
And Jesus is his name.
Sometimes we still blame.
Sometimes we complain.
Sometimes we don’t aim.
Sometimes we feel shame.
Some resort to the vein,
Vices to cope with the pain,
Heroine, meth, & cocaine.
But let it be known,
With The Father & Son,
We can break all chains,
We can endure all pains,
And by endurance we’ll obtain,
Keys to the Kingdom, of God’s glorious reign.
