There’s a Lion
in His Heart

Inside the man,
There’s a passion,
There’s a trigger,
There’s a scorching hot ember,
It’s ready to kindle, burning in his heart.
It’s a restless tinder, waiting, urging to spark.
It’s a hounding wolf, with teeth like a shark.
It’s a snout muzzled,
Craving, thirsting, itching to bark.
It’s a howling flame,
Yearning to roar,
Unleashed & untamed.
The man’s heart is eager,
Eager to become a man.
Eager to have a mission, a purpose, & a plan.
Eager to build strength,
That he would know he is capable, & able.
That he has what it takes, to conquer what he can.
The man’s heart is longing,
Longing to know, he can lead & direct.
Longing to know, he can deter & deflect.
Longing to provide, be known, & protect,
To earn his own, & his wife’s respect.
The man’s heart is hungry,
Hungry to be dangerous,
Hungry to break free,
Hungry to be wild,
Like a pirate, roaming the seas.
The man’s heart is ready,
Ready to face trials,
He’s no longer a child,
He needs to bleed,
To earn his rite of passage,
To attain his father’s approval, & hear him accede,
“You, my son, are now a grown man.
You fought the fight, you showed courage.
Well done, my son, welcome to our clan.”
Inside the man,
There’s a deafening roar.
There’s a ferocious beast,
Scrapping, clawing at the cage,
Dying to escape, & run free.
Open the gates,
Open the gates,
Let it race.
Let it gallop, leap, sprint, & chase.
Open the gates,
Open the gates,
Let him embrace,
His masculine ways.
Inside the man,
There’s a burning desire.
It’s eager,
It’s longing,
It’s hungry,
It’s ready to spark,
It’s time to awaken the beast,
There’s a lion in his heart.
