Suffering

Days, long they run.

Nights, longer still.​

The beating heart thumps.

The body struggles, ill.

The strong spirit shall not yield.

Oh death, you will not take.

Oh death, fear will not shake -

The spirit, it walks in meadow fields.

The body crumbles, ill.

The spirit stands tall.

The spirit, you cannot kill.

In Christ, the soul awakes.

Resurrection, in You I wait.
